Outlook error "Something unexpected went wrong with this url"

I had the same problem.

I got solution for me in below way.

1. Open Internet Option by typing in search bar in taskbar.
2. Select Local Intranet.
3. click on sites
4. click on advance
5. Add the file server link or ip which you want to get open.
6. Once added the IP click close apply ok.
7. Now close outlook and open and try. hope this will solve your problem.

Disabling hyperlink warning messages isn't a solution, because it may worsen the IT security.

The update KB5002427 is responsible for this buggy issue. We can't uninstall it, because it won't improve the IT security either...

not sure why Microsoft is not communicating to customers. I don;t think they are going to change it back/fix issue. We installed the workaround via group policy to our 100 approx users and all is well again.

The same issue was faced on me with the 2308 version of Outlook.

And yes, I've noticed this after the recent updates were applied on some machines in my organization, whereas non-updated computers are working fine. I'm not sure what the exact Security Pach number but knowing that this thing was informed a while ago and still exists is quite frustrating.

All the advice I could find on the web somehow follows the app or registry modifications, which is unacceptable.

So, this is it - Waiting for the next "buggy patch" seems to be the sole solution, isn't it?

Any solution for this? Quite a number of user in my organization having this issue.
