    Hi,

Could anyone please tell me how to remove the FQDN for users? Or is the only workaround at the moment is to edit the hyperlink's location?

My organisation appears to be in an interesting predicament where the hyperlink is pulling the files from an old file location that has not existed in 10 years, for example.

    \oldfilelocation.domain.internal\

But this isn't happening for everyone; some staff are pulling from the correct file location, for example.

    \filelocation\

For the staff who are able to link from the correct file location, they are not experiencing the Something unexpected went wrong with this URL issue.

it is just the users who are pulling the files from the old location.

So, does anyone know how to fix the location that staff are pulling their file location from?

    Thanks.

We tried o365 quick repair and choose outlook pre mode.

After that we can turn on file link in outlook temporary.

We have two clients with the same issue, and the only thing in common I can see is the latest version of Microsoft 365 and these two patches:

    KB5028851

    KB5028185

At the moment we are copying and pasting links and changing them from FQDN to UNC.

Hi, getting the exact same behaviour as this.

On messages with a file path that has been done with an FQDN because the user is working remote through a VPN, we get the error.

On messages with a file path that is only on a host name or drive letter, the message gives the security warning but otherwise works.

    Thanks
