Same here. Got a few complaints today, and I can reproduce it in Outlook on both M365 Apps' Current Channel and Monthly Enterprise Channel builds.

We're using DFS namespaces for our file servers/paths as well.

TO funny how do you have 400 users do that fix. Most user know there way around TikTok and there phones better than there work machines.

The fix can be deployed via Group Policy

    GPO: User Configuration

    Policy: \Windows Components\Internet Explorer\Internet Control Panel\Security Page\Site to Zone Assignment List

Registry keys can also be prepared and distributed.

If you are getting this error:

then add this file://\abc.local to the Trusted Sites inside Internet Properties ("abc" needs to be changed to yourdomainname.local)

Or when the people are creating the links they need to type the server name:

So instead of typing \abc.local\work\Finance you need to type \abc-fileserver-1\work\finance
