Please help, Outlook inbox is not displaying all emails received.

Missing emails do not appear in focus, other, or junk inboxes.

Inbox is not full, all filters are reset.

Missing emails can only be seen when using the search bar.

This issue occurs on phone and laptop, even after reinstallation of Outlook.

    Hi,

There are many reasons that this could happen, and I am disappointed that representatives of MS (in any capacity) can't answer questions like this with relative ease, but I found a solution for my particular issue and I will share it here in case it might help some of you.

Quick Caveat: I did not have time to read all of the messages here, so I apologize if this is redundant.

First a quick description of my issue.

In a new POP account that I just setup (none of my other accounts ever had this problem) I could see that in the left column within my Folder Hierarchy my Inbox had 20 messages in it, however none of them appeared in my center message display panel. It looked like my Inbox was empty.

Now mind you this was a new account that I just setup, so I hadn't made any changes to it.

After as much research as I could handle I just started experimenting, and for my issue the fix was quite simple.

In the blank message area, I Right Clicked, which pulled up a menu. I clicked on "Filter" which pulled up a dialog box. At the bottom of the dialog box I clicked on "Clear All" and with that my messages appeared, and all was good.

I know that this might be the solution for your exact issue, but maybe this will help some of you.

Discovered the same thing by accident.

“Clear All” makes absolutely no sense in this context, does it??? :( Should say “See New messages”!

While I didn't have the exact same issue as you, thanks for mentioning your issue, as I also had no visible emails in my Inbox, and had to clear the sort via the interface on Web.

I never added a filter or sorted my mails, so why it did this in the first place, AND why it didn't show it as an sort filter in the UI itself in any capacity, is absolutely daft. Outlook 365 is the worst online mail client I've ever used. By far.

Can Microsoft fix the bug where mails refuse to delete now? That's also still an issue.

Gave up. Switched back to previous version of Outlook which displayed messages normally but got fed up with constant prompts to "Try the NEW Outlook."

    Now using Gmail instead.

FYI - I am only using the Outlook.com website for email.

How do you switch back to the "old" Outlook? This is an account/display issue, not a 365, Outlook app, or other issue. I have been using Hotmail since it started, 25 years +, NO ISSUES EVER.

    Thx for the feedback though.
