How to permanently prevent Outlook for Mac from switching to the new GUI?

Outlook for Mac is periodically insisting on changing to the new Outlook for Mac experience. I do not want this. Period.

I have tried the New Outlook and reverted back to the current and much-preferred version, since the New Outlook does not suit my needs. Moreover, after an automatic restart into the New Outlook and having to revert, it is not returning to the state it was in. I do not want to use the New Outlook and I certainly don't want to fix all issues after reverting.

How can I permanently prevent Outlook for Mac from forcing me to use (and revert from) the New Outlook?

Can I set a preference so that it will not ambush me again in the future?

    I've already complain that Microsoft Outlook for MAC does not work as expected, the calendar does not show any meeting that I receive, and to make things worst MS is trying to force its way to install it anyway!

    I would not mind to use the newer version, but the condition is that it has to work better than the previous one, not worst.

    So, this terminal command just gets rid of the banner saying try it now, but does not prevent it from periodically forcing you to switch?

    After the last update, there should be an option to indicate you don't want the switch to happen. There should be a pop-up window where you would be able to indicate not getting the question again. That did not work in my case, so, with the assistance of a local Microsoft representative, I was able to reset my installation and then use this Terminal command to at least get rid of the switch. I don't know if this will prevent a switch to happen in the future.

    My advice is to reach out to Microsoft every single time you bump into this issue. And even if you don't get that auto-switch nonsense but like the legacy/normal/current version better than the new: contact Microsoft and let your voice be heard.

    every time the update automatically installs, I lose ALL of my email and ALL of my folders and saved emails that reside on my computer. My entire business will be put in jeopardy if I lose all of my previous email and email history. I must stop this update from happening automatically.

    How can I stop the update or alternatively have Outlook restore my email organization EXACTLY as it had been before the update?
