How to permanently prevent Outlook for Mac from switching to the new GUI?

Hi, I am also in the same boat as all of you needing to keep the previous version of Outlook to be able to run our business and access old emails/files etc. What a nightmare this is!!!! I have been avoiding switching bc when I tried it I lost so much that i still needed. Then this week I got the dreaded "new version will launch the next time Outlook restarts" and then found this thread.

I have tried to enter the: defaults write com.microsoft.Outlook EnableNewOutlook -int 0 (*by jwcjcjwc on page 3)

into Terminal on Big Sur but it doesn't change anything, I still have the banner and new outlook toggle.

Please help I don't want to get stuck on the new crappy Outlook!!!

BTW It said this at the top of the terminal: (do I need to do this first?) I don't know what i am doing really with terminal:

2. Then I tried again and Latest try gave me this:

still the new outlook relaunch threat banner is there

Thank you very much; this worked like a charm; an immediate fix! I am very happy to be able to continue using my good 'ol Outlook :-)

Quit Outlook, open Terminal. Copy the following line, paste it into the Terminal window, and press enter.

defaults write com.microsoft.Outlook EnableNewOutlook -int 0

You'll be taken back to the standard prompt, but once you launch Outlook again, you should no longer see the 'New Outlook button and won't be prompted to switch.

I very much encountered the same experience and DO NOT WANT the 'New Outlook for Mac' as it is now.

I tried it twice and suffered to find my way in it, lacking possibilities en functionality. I also do not want to be in a 'development procedure' to help Microsoft; I paid a 365 subscription in able to do my work and to do what I want to do; don't want and need to spend time in developing a 'new' product from them.

I now seriously consider to make a complete switch to the Mac office suite and mail program.... sometjing that was advised me long ago when I switched to Mac....

So please Microsoft; make my life easy and don't cause new trouble; let me work with the Outlook as it is now. Let me now when your 'new' version is up to the current one.

I'm just very curious about how many people simply accept the proposed nonsense "new" Outlook version and deal with the issues it has.

Earlier today, I heard my partner exclaim: "Why can't I find all my e-mails? Where's my default signature?". Turns out we forgot to treat one system with the Terminal command to prevent it from switching. Turns out many people accept a GUI change, but get very annoyed when "it doesn't work" anymore.

Switched back to the trusted version and immediately a long list of emails dropped in. All functionality back to normal. Gave it the Terminal command treatment.

@Microsoft: Please, please, please stop this!

Professional users should not need to experience this nonsense!
