Outlook showing "from" field when replying to an email addressed or cc'd to me

Very recently, don't know the exact date, when replying to an email, addressed to me or I'm cc'd, Outlook shows the "from" field (with my email address, no other account).

I have one email account, I cannot find a solution to stop this from appearing, it doesn't impact anything, just it never used to show it, now it does.

It doesn't appear if I create a new email (wouldn't expect it to, as I only have one account), It also doesn't appear If I reply to an email that doesn't name me but am part of a mail group.

Anyone else have this "issue", a workaround or is there a fix?

    I so wanted that to work. Still an issue for me too. I tried the sequence twice.

    it worked for me!! so I just did this... changed the registry value from "0" to "1"... restarted outlook... went back into registry editor, changed the value to "0" and then restarted outlook again. now the "from" does not appear on new messages or on replies to messages!!

    I'm assuming we're still talking about:

    \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Preference\ShowFrom

    If so, I tried it again with no change. I suspect the reason why it's not working for some of us has to do with aliases. When I click on the ever-present From box and choose Manage List, there's the one address I want checked and greyed-out. Under that are 4 aliases I never use, unchecked. Something about that must be triggering the visibility of the field, something that changed last year.
