Outlook showing "from" field when replying to an email addressed or cc'd to me

Very recently, don't know the exact date, when replying to an email, addressed to me or I'm cc'd, Outlook shows the "from" field (with my email address, no other account).

I have one email account, I cannot find a solution to stop this from appearing, it doesn't impact anything, just it never used to show it, now it does.

It doesn't appear if I create a new email (wouldn't expect it to, as I only have one account), It also doesn't appear If I reply to an email that doesn't name me but am part of a mail group.

Anyone else have this "issue", a workaround or is there a fix?

    This regression bug was introduced more than 6 months (a year?) ago. Why can't Microsoft fix it? Out of their skills?

    New versions of Outlook and Office programs always mean more regressions introduced, much more than any benefit from some scarce bug fixes and mostly useless new functionalities. A pity that the company where I work won't block these painful updates... :(

    At home I can use a version 2003 of Microsoft Office: much less bugs (and these have mostly never been fixed in 20 years), much more efficient UI, faster software, no missing significant functionalities...

    Dear all,

    i don't use outlook, i use outlook online.

    Strange : i have exactly the same behavior online than the outlook desktop app. So it is not related to Windows registry

    Effectively something has been changed with the recent update

    Just woke up today to this problem, very annoying.

    Tried everything described here and on other threads, but the issue persists.

    Strange that this thread was opened some time ago, and there is still no solution.

    Does anyone work on supporting customers, or Microsoft only chases AI unicorns now?

    Same issue for us too as of 7/26/23. Tried using regedit to disable the "from" field in outlook but this didn't change anything. Only happens when replying to emails
