Outlook showing "from" field when replying to an email addressed or cc'd to me

Very recently, don't know the exact date, when replying to an email, addressed to me or I'm cc'd, Outlook shows the "from" field (with my email address, no other account).

I have one email account, I cannot find a solution to stop this from appearing, it doesn't impact anything, just it never used to show it, now it does.

It doesn't appear if I create a new email (wouldn't expect it to, as I only have one account), It also doesn't appear If I reply to an email that doesn't name me but am part of a mail group.

Anyone else have this "issue", a workaround or is there a fix?

I can confirm this began with 2212. Users still on 2211 do not have this problem.

The application seem to ignore the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Preferences*ShowFrom* key value.

New messages do not have this problem, only Replies and Forwards except when done from the Sent Items folder.

    Hello,

I have the same issue and I can't see this issue being solved.

Can you please update how to disable "from" while replying to an every single email?

    Dear Julian,

    Thank you for your response.

Can you kindly check whether the registry value in your Outlook is set to 1? If so, you can set it to 0 and check whether the From field is disabled by default.

Go to registry and locate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Preferences
Kindly find the value of the ShowFrom REG_DWORD. If this value is set to 1, kindly set to 0 and restart Outlook and check the result.

Important: Follow the steps in this section carefully. Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Before you modify it,back up the registryfor restoration in case problems occur.

Thank you for your patience and looking forward to your response.

    Best Regards,

    Ashraf

Yes I do have the "show fields" when replying to an email.

I know I can "deactivate" it there but that doesn't explain the change that seems to have happened.

It would mean I have to deactivate the "from" "button" on every email to me, I reply to.

I don't recall this ever being "active" until recently.
