Outlook showing "from" field when replying to an email addressed or cc'd to me

Very recently, don't know the exact date, when replying to an email, addressed to me or I'm cc'd, Outlook shows the "from" field (with my email address, no other account).

I have one email account, I cannot find a solution to stop this from appearing, it doesn't impact anything, just it never used to show it, now it does.

It doesn't appear if I create a new email (wouldn't expect it to, as I only have one account), It also doesn't appear If I reply to an email that doesn't name me but am part of a mail group.

Anyone else have this "issue", a workaround or is there a fix?

Same issue for us too as of 7/26/23. Tried using regedit to disable the "from" field in outlook but this didn't change anything. Only happens when replying to emails

Same issue, I only have 1 account but the "From" field shows up when replying and can't be removed permanently (only temporarily in the same reply by using the "Options" tab.

    Dear Julian,

    Thank you for your response.

Can you kindly check whether the registry value in your Outlook is set to 1? If so, you can set it to 0 and check whether the From field is disabled by default.

Go to registry and locate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Preferences
Kindly find the value of the ShowFrom REG_DWORD. If this value is set to 1, kindly set to 0 and restart Outlook and check the result.

Important: Follow the steps in this section carefully. Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Before you modify it,back up the registryfor restoration in case problems occur.

Thank you for your patience and looking forward to your response.

    Best Regards,

    Ashraf
