How to stop outlook from opening a browser every time I create a meeting?

Every time I click on New Meeting it opens my browser and its very frustrating. How do you shut this functionality off?

    Hi all,

    We got a Known Issue published and will keep it updated with status as we go forward, Outlook unexpectedly opens a browser window if OWA is disabled - Microsoft Support.

    The known issue only addresses the Edge tab opening when an meeting is being scheduled. Now just opening Outlook is opening a tab. Is there a separate issue for that?

    It may have been updated after you viewed the article but this is now also in the known issue:

    "Starting Outlook or creating a new email may open a browser window to an OPX URL path such as: 

    *https://outlook.office.com/opx//activityfeed/?hostApp=outlookdesktop&culture=en-US*"

    That describes my issue with Outlook opening a new tab just from being opened that I'm seeing.

    yes, just opening Outlook does it. So does just clicking on an email in Outlook after having been to another sheet or application. Work in Excel or some other application, then go back to Outlook and click to delete or view or something, and the Outlook web page opens up

    The amount of time taken to resolve this, and now this new issue, is ridiculous.

    OWA IS NOT FOR EVERY ORGANIZATION!!! This shoehorning is becoming very tiresome.
