How to stop outlook from opening a browser every time I create a meeting?

Every time I click on New Meeting it opens my browser and its very frustrating. How do you shut this functionality off?

the only work ive seen work 100% was to edit the host file and set office.outlook.com to localhost

Hi all,

I checked further and I see we got a support case with this issue. In this case the root cause was that OWA had not been used and configured before it was disabled. In case this could be the issue can you try these steps below?

Workaround:
- enable OWA for a user experiencing the issue
- open OWA - language/timezone page should be shown - fill language and timezone, enter to OWA
- exit OWA
- disable OWA (OWAEnable=false)
- try to repro the issue.
A bug has been opened to investigate a fix for this scenario.

The only fix that I know works for sure is to enable Outlook on the web within Exchange. That worked for my users, but your experience may vary. And I'm not sure if that's something you even want to enable since there's a good chance it was disabled for a reason.
