Using older versions of Outlook for Mac in business environments
It works!
Thank you so much. I've a lot of correspondence on my Outlook account, and this will keep me going till the next glitch.

Since today, when I try to compose an email it will let me type in both the subject and body fields (as normal) but not in the 'To' field to enter the recipient's email address.
I click on the 'To' bit and nothing happens. I hover the cursor over it and try to type - nothing happens. I'm blocked out from entering any email addresses.
It means I cannot send any new emails from my account via my desktop. Seems to be just fine from my phone.
It's bizarre and frustrating and I can't find anything about it online.
Desktop is an older iMac using Safari. Never had a problem before.

I am having the same problem! What is going on? How do we report it to Microsoft?

I am having the same problem. I have tried the fixes described here but nothing works. It won't let me put anything in the field for the recipients email address. It just blocks any input. How do we report this to MSN.COM?
Did you try: Click on 'New email'. Look for the little square on the top right corner of the email box. When you find it, it will indicate 'Open in new window'. Click on it. Your new window will have a weird blue line around the 'to' field, but it should work.
Likewise, if you are replying to someone and want to add another address, go to 'open in new window' and you should be OK.
This works for me - let us know if it works for you.
