Cannot enter recipient email addresses in Outlook on Mac. Any help?

Since today, when I try to compose an email it will let me type in both the subject and body fields (as normal) but not in the 'To' field to enter the recipient's email address.

I click on the 'To' bit and nothing happens. I hover the cursor over it and try to type - nothing happens. I'm blocked out from entering any email addresses.

It means I cannot send any new emails from my account via my desktop. Seems to be just fine from my phone.

It's bizarre and frustrating and I can't find anything about it online.

Desktop is an older iMac using Safari. Never had a problem before.

The people who said open the little square in the upper right hand corner "Open in New Window" worked. Before I sent this note, I had to send some critical emails via my Gmail account.. Good news is I know I am not missing any receiving emails in Microsoft

Replying to my own note to see if I receive back this email.

This is frustrating and having read through all the notes in this thread, I see the frustration we all share.

Once again, let me paste in my Frustrated and Angry note....

Where is this little damn square.... ? someone anyone, help please.

Microsoft, what are you doing here?

I do not see the little square at top right that are mentioned.

At top right of my Hotmail screen is a circle with my photo inside.

When hover over it, it says "Account Manager for... and my name.

Just to the left of that are three dots and hovering over, it says "Access additional features."

I am absolutely stuck on this, and have read many but not all of the 80 some notes from people experiencing same thing. Will go back and read more, but tho some say this work around works for them, I can't find the Little Square referred to.
