    I think Microsoft has updated something at their end for account verification, and Outlook now can't cope with personal Microsoft accounts.

    My set up: Windows 10, Office 365 accounts, Hotmail account that stopped working

    What worked for me was

    1. Close Outlook
    2. Go to Windows --> Settings --> Accounts --> Email and Accounts --> Select the Hotmail or other personal account

    --> Click Manage

    --> Change option to "Microsoft apps can sign me in"

    1. Restart Outlook.

    Hope that helps!

    Thank you! I have been fighting with this for hours. The link you provided led to a solution that involved deleting a registry entry.

    Not sure if this helps anyone else but I was able to resolve the problem by switching to the "New" Outlook Version. Microsoft Outlook Version 1.2023.807.100, Client Version is 20230804005.15 .

    I had already tried this, I've repeated it, but still hasn't solved the issue.
