After I downloaded the Mac Ventura OS, my Outlook is not searching email. Advice?

When you do put the code in terminal for Off then On… restart the machine and then give it time… let it sit… because I have so many emails, mine took about 4 hours until it got settled.

If you waited longer than that then something is not right. But it should work. Just let the machine do its thing. If you keep trying different methods without waiting 2-3 hrs to see results it wont work.

This hasn't worked. In fact it's made it worse. Classic outlook search facility won't work at all now although it does work on the online archive. It also works if I switch to the distinctly unlikeable new outlook.

Same issue. I contacted support directly from Outlook and got this answer. The solution worked for me!! (I have a Macbook Pro M2 Chip)

I will be glad to assist you. With regards to the search issue, let's run a couple of commands on Terminal to manually initiate indexing and check if that helps:

Open Finder and go to Applications - Utilities - Terminal and type the following commands (Press Enter after typing each command).sudo mdutil -a -i offsudo mdutil -a -i onNote: When prompted for a password, please type the Mac user password. This would be invisible. Please type the same and hit enter.Once done, restart the mac computer and wait for about an hour and check for the behavior.Please try and let us know the Outcome. Thank you.

Even now, March 15th, this is the formula that helped me and many others dealing with this issue.

I wish I had found it earlier. I ran into Search Not working maybe 2-3 times in my career and each of those time was a pain to figure out that I dont even know what worked and what didnt.
