Outlook Calendar changes not showing up in Google Calendar

Hello there!

I have Outlook email and Calendar (and I'm not sure what else) through work. I shared my main Outlook Calendar to my personal Google Calendar account by importing the Outlook .ICS URL (found in Outlook.com > Settings > Calendar > Shared Calendars) into GC. All events show up usually, but this past week I haven't seen event changes showing up in GC, even more than 24 hours after the changed event passed. I can't find any way to manually force a sync/update.

What can be done to ensure event changes to my Outlook Calendar show up in my Google Calendar? This is important for me because I have a long-established system of meeting reminders based around my Google Calendar, and whether OC supports that setup or not it would be too much work to redo it all for this 1 calendar.

Thanks in advance,

Grant

Thanks for making this clearer for people - that script has been a great thing for me but I didn't have time to write it up earlier for the less technical among us. To anyone having trouble with the GAS-IAS-Sync script, please try Aceman57's instructions that I'm replying to.

The more I try, the more confused I'm becoming.

Get really weired results and have not identified a pattern as yet.

My worry with adding this script to the user's google account is the unknown - This is an issue that Google/Microsoft need to iron out. Not sure how easy removing the script would be, and whether doing so post-Google/Microsoft's fix wouldn't cause other kinds of issues, or whether Google/Microsoft's fix won't work due to the script's existence, when and if a fix does eventually come. And is there some unexpected unwanted behavior with team events/notices?

Being that this is a very surface level issue directly impacting end users, this is absolutely something that Google/Microsoft will need to fix. My hesitancy in applying the script fix is certainly born from ignorance, but it's also born from 13 years of working in IT. I may opt to continue re-adding the calendar for this one user weekly, at least for the next few weeks. If issues continue I may revisit the script workaround.

Does this script solution utilize the Outlook desktop app in any way? My user is just using the web apps within Chrome for both OWA and Google, and we're experiencing the issue. So far I've just been removing/re-adding the calendar via ICS link. Seems to be fine for a day or two, then eventually stops syncing entirely again. If the script requires use of a local desktop app then I don't think that's a solution that'll work for me.
