Outlook Calendar changes not showing up in Google Calendar

Hello there!

I have Outlook email and Calendar (and I'm not sure what else) through work. I shared my main Outlook Calendar to my personal Google Calendar account by importing the Outlook .ICS URL (found in Outlook.com > Settings > Calendar > Shared Calendars) into GC. All events show up usually, but this past week I haven't seen event changes showing up in GC, even more than 24 hours after the changed event passed. I can't find any way to manually force a sync/update.

What can be done to ensure event changes to my Outlook Calendar show up in my Google Calendar? This is important for me because I have a long-established system of meeting reminders based around my Google Calendar, and whether OC supports that setup or not it would be too much work to redo it all for this 1 calendar.

    Sounds like good progress.

    Yes - I think that you would need to log into each of your google accounts and add the script.

    Mine has been working lovely for a week with one minute refreshing.

    The ONLY grumble that I could make is that my TEAMS URLs don't come across very well when an invite is created in Win10 Calendar...travels to GCal...then syncs to a new Calendar in Win10. But to be fair....this I can live with and work around!!

    For anyone daunted by the process...don't be. Have a go. You are basically adding a script to your google account to go fetch info from your outlook/M365 calendar every few minutes. It all happens in the cloud!

    Do you have 2FA activated in your Google Account?

    I'm definitely no expert, but here are some thoughts:

    • I've seen someone post that this script doesn't work if you have 2FA enabled, I don't think I have it enabled so can't say if this would stop it working for me. And I don't want to fiddle with it now it's working!
    • I have a couple of google accounts - and when I first set it up, I linked the script with one account, but was trying to see the calendar through the other account. I had to make sure that they were both in the same account before it worked - this might be it?

    I seems maybe my issue may have been that I was setting the update interval too short. I tried 1 minute because I didn't want to wait 5 minutes while testing. Turns out the script has a check right away and 1 minute wasn't always long enough to for that one to complete reliably before the first "real" startSync run. It didn't seem to recover well from that collision. Maybe 5 min is the minimum "safe" interval. I'll try updating the trigger later if I can't stand the 5 minute wait.

    Ah. I do see it, but the actual events don't show. I've tried deleting it and re-running the script (with a change of calendar color). It does reappear with the new color, but still no events. Any ideas on what I can debug inside the code? Maybe some authorization is messed up? Though I'd expect an error of sorts and not to see the calendar in the list.
