Outlook Calendar changes not showing up in Google Calendar

Hello there!

I have Outlook email and Calendar (and I'm not sure what else) through work. I shared my main Outlook Calendar to my personal Google Calendar account by importing the Outlook .ICS URL (found in Outlook.com > Settings > Calendar > Shared Calendars) into GC. All events show up usually, but this past week I haven't seen event changes showing up in GC, even more than 24 hours after the changed event passed. I can't find any way to manually force a sync/update.

What can be done to ensure event changes to my Outlook Calendar show up in my Google Calendar? This is important for me because I have a long-established system of meeting reminders based around my Google Calendar, and whether OC supports that setup or not it would be too much work to redo it all for this 1 calendar.

Thanks in advance,

Grant

I followed the instructions, they are quite clear, so thank you for that. In the future if I ever want to delete the script, I literally just go into this Copy and click the install dropdown > uninstall, right? Does deletion of the Copy from Google Drive also result in complete removal of the script? (also asking for what to expect in the event the user deletes it or moves it).

This seems to be working. It took a few minutes for all of the events to load in (I set the sync to 2 minutes), and about every 30 seconds or so a new event would pop in. Looks like I've got them all showing now, so hopefully this sticks!

I formatted some very clear instructions below for anyone like myself who appreciates hand holding.

    1. On the user's computer sign into both their OWA and their Google. Have them open in two different tabs.
    2. Copy the script to the user's Google Drive:
      1. Open this link on the user's computer: https://script.google.com/home/projects/1BOk8MDLbLaHh6SwG1M1tsgNXjkcC-79LE0QoipRuTDxbO3fMVvqoROQD/edit
      2. Select "view dashboard" if you see a popup, then click the ( i ) icon on the left pane, and then the Copy icon on the upper right. This will add a file into their Google Drive called "Copy of GAS-ICS-Sync. Find that and open it.
    3. Make these two edits to line 28:
      1. Replace the text IcsUrl1 between the "" with the OWA calendar ICS link. The quotations must remain.
        • To retrieve this link, go to your OWA mailbox > Settings gear icon in the upper right > all settings > calendars > shared calendars > click on and copy the ICS link.
      2. Replace the text TargetCalendar1 with whatever you want the calendar to be named within Google Calendar. Make sure this is a unique name.
    4. Click Run. You'll be asked to authorize the script by re-signing into Google. And you're done.
    5. If you'd like to drop the default sync time down from 15 minutes, you'll find that on line 34. Simply replace 15 with whatever number you want. I set mine to 2 minutes.

If the above steps were successful, you'll notice a new calendar pop up within Google, under My Calendars. It will be called whatever you chose to name in step 3-2. Allow a few minutes for all calendar events to show. They'll sprinkle in over the next several minutes.

Same issue. Really tough to use Calendly to schedule events when the sync between Outlook to Google isn't happening real time. Double booking myself all over the place. Why isn't Microsoft looking into this?

Hopefully, Microsoft will see this and notice that so many of us are having the same issues. The sync was working great for me up until several weeks ago. Now, the same thing as everyone else, any new events don't get synced. Very frustrating.

    Hi all,

I'm having the same issue as you all and decided to test this yesterday. My work Outlook calendar has been linked to my personal Google calendar last week using the .ICS URL method. Yesterday at 11:29am, I created a dummy event in my Outlook calendar to see if it would populate in my Google calendar.

It didn't right away, but sometime after 10pm at night (when I stopped checking) it did show up on my calendar. It's frustrating that the calendar sync isn't continuous, especially when trying to juggle multiple calendars, but for me at least, it does seem to update within 12-22 hours afterwards.

    Hope this helps for now!

    Brandon
