Outlook Calendar changes not showing up in Google Calendar

Hello there!

I have Outlook email and Calendar (and I'm not sure what else) through work. I shared my main Outlook Calendar to my personal Google Calendar account by importing the Outlook .ICS URL (found in Outlook.com > Settings > Calendar > Shared Calendars) into GC. All events show up usually, but this past week I haven't seen event changes showing up in GC, even more than 24 hours after the changed event passed. I can't find any way to manually force a sync/update.

What can be done to ensure event changes to my Outlook Calendar show up in my Google Calendar? This is important for me because I have a long-established system of meeting reminders based around my Google Calendar, and whether OC supports that setup or not it would be too much work to redo it all for this 1 calendar.

Thanks in advance,

Grant

Hello Andrew (and g2zant). I, too, have had the issue with an Office 365 calendar not refreshing in Google Calendar when using the .ics URL. This seems to have been the case for about 4 weeks. You said you thought that it was related to individuals not accepting meetings. But, for me, it seems not to refresh for any event, meeting or otherwise. I tried setting up a test event yesterday morning and it has not come through. Whilst posting here (at answers.microsoft) may evoke some help from others and assistance from the moderators, I think that it would also be helpful to post feedback from your Office 365 account (i.e. log into your Office 365 account and on the webpage, select the ? symbol at the top right, next to your profile picture and scroll down to Feedback. Providing feedback provides for more direct communication with the development team, I think. But please continue to update us here.

EDIT: I'm also testing another theory right now (although the below may still work) - I noticed that my link from Outlook starts with https:// when older ones that appear to work correctly start with webcal:// so I've modified the link and re-added it to my Google calendar and will update again if it works...

EDIT2: The Google Apps Script works perfectly. webcal:// did nothing. Use the instructions below.

Based on the previous answers about the actual .ics file apparently updating correctly, I went searching in the Google support forums. I found this post [1] which leads to a GitHub project [2] that supposedly solves the sync issue by walking you through creating a new Google Apps Script that does the sync properly. I haven't tested it out yet but a cursory glance at the code seems like it should work. While this isn't ideal and does require technical skill to implement, I'm crossing my fingers that it solves the issue for me.

This had been working just fine until a couple of months ago. I've been using outlook for work and the google calendar for personal use and sharing the outlook calendar to the google calendar. I don't want my whole personal life in my work outlook, but need my work commitments in the google calendars so this is very, very frustrating.

I, too, have been doing weekly reset of the links, so its sort of up to date, but it's super annoying and not at all useful.

I would love to hear the answer to this general issue. For years I've had multiple calendars sync'd into GC w/o issues. But lately changes in Outlook 365 or Teams are takings days to update to show moved meetings or new meetings. I want to be able to force and update/re-sync but don't seem to be able. At this point I've lost faith in just looking at my GC and need to always view Teams/MS app for confirmation of free time and meetings.
