Outlook Calendar changes not showing up in Google Calendar

Hello there!

I have Outlook email and Calendar (and I'm not sure what else) through work. I shared my main Outlook Calendar to my personal Google Calendar account by importing the Outlook .ICS URL (found in Outlook.com > Settings > Calendar > Shared Calendars) into GC. All events show up usually, but this past week I haven't seen event changes showing up in GC, even more than 24 hours after the changed event passed. I can't find any way to manually force a sync/update.

What can be done to ensure event changes to my Outlook Calendar show up in my Google Calendar? This is important for me because I have a long-established system of meeting reminders based around my Google Calendar, and whether OC supports that setup or not it would be too much work to redo it all for this 1 calendar.

    It can't be that hard to fix.

    I have no idea how to tell if it's Google not requesting or 365 not sending.

    My GC changes show up instantly in OC, but the OC changes don't show up in GC apart from the first sync and for as much as 24 hours after that it works, but usually only works for a short time.

    Just some additional info:

    This does not appear to be a problem when subscribed to the Outlook Calendar in iCloud Calendar. There is a significant delay, maybe 10 to 15 minutes for changes made in OC to appear in iCal, but they do show up. Google Calendar not so much.

    Would love for this to be resolved.

    Hi,

    I'm not sure if it's a Microsoft or Google problem. If I use the link/URL of the Outlook Calendar (OC) to download the .ics file (using a browser, or a tool like wget), I get the correct calendar information (meaning: I download the file, add an event in OC, download the file again, and the new event is present in de downloaded file). So if I can download the correct information, why doesn't it show on Google Calendar (GC), because I presume Google also 'just' downloads that file from time to time. So either Microsoft is not serving the file to Google as it serves it to me (a 'regular web agent'), or Google doesn't (re-)requests the file/calendar after it was added to GC. Or, the way of serving/fetching calendars changed unilaterally, breaking the communication/synchronisation.

    Maybe an analysis of the HTTP headers (while requesting the .ics file) could reveal the origin of the issue, but I'm not an expert in that. Also, I guess nobody knows how Google requests those .ics files anyway so it's hard to reproduce the process...

    I reported the issue at Microsoft and Google, but no response yet.

    Hopefully someone can bring more insights?
