Outlook Calendar changes not showing up in Google Calendar

Hello there!

I have Outlook email and Calendar (and I'm not sure what else) through work. I shared my main Outlook Calendar to my personal Google Calendar account by importing the Outlook .ICS URL (found in Outlook.com > Settings > Calendar > Shared Calendars) into GC. All events show up usually, but this past week I haven't seen event changes showing up in GC, even more than 24 hours after the changed event passed. I can't find any way to manually force a sync/update.

What can be done to ensure event changes to my Outlook Calendar show up in my Google Calendar? This is important for me because I have a long-established system of meeting reminders based around my Google Calendar, and whether OC supports that setup or not it would be too much work to redo it all for this 1 calendar.

Thanks in advance,

Grant

Which is basically a daily import. Why isn't the world going mad at this?

Unfortunately, I have to join this thread because I'm having the exact same issue. In Google Calendar, for years, I subscribed to my Outlook Calendar via a URL (pointing to a .ics file) and it worked perfectly. Recently, events that I added to my Outlook Calendar stopped showing up in GC (regardless of where they were created: desktop Outlook app, Outlook web app, Outlook mobile app.

For GC on mobile (Android), there is a workaround, by enabling the option "sync calendars" in the Outlook app (under settings, and in the account info of the (outlook/office365) mail account). By doing so, the outlook calendar also shows up in the GC mobile app. But this is by sharing local files (I presume).

So the issue remains for the GC web app: there, new events are no longer showing up. Is asked the IT department if they changed policies, but apparently not. in GC web app, I tried removing/unsubscribing the OC, and re-adding it, but without success. Even stranger: I added the OC twice (once with a https URL, and once with a webcal URL), and they give different results.

The strange thing is that if I use the URL of the OC (so the https one I use to subscribe to in GC), I'm able to download an .ics file where the last modifications are present. So the info is there, but doesn't show up on the GC web app.

Any ideas/suggestions/tips/thoughts are more than welcome. As said by J Backus, I can't rely on only checking my GC, but I need to check two apps to have full view on my agenda; this is ridiculous. I hope there is a solution to this issue.

Don't hold your breath, Microsoft don't seem to care.

Hey ReynaldoB, I hope you are well.

I have been having the same issue for some time. I have a few roles in different organisations and so the synchronisation is critical for me. I have lost money and looked foolish because a meeting changed in outlook has not appeared as changed in my google calendar.

    • Have you already tried checking your Outlook calendar on the webmail(Outlook.com)? - YES I HAVE, I mainly use outlook on the web not the desktop client, I do sometimes use it on mobile but it is seriously the most unfriendly thing, you guys should just copy the way the google one works
    • What was your last activity on your Outlook calendar? - I accepted a changed meeting request as a maybe
    • Have you checked the permissions of your Outlook calendar if it was set to properly to "Can view all details"? - YES I have, the problem gets fixed if I delete the calendar in google and put it in again. If I change a google calendar meeting in outlook it changes in my google calendar, it seems to be related to if all people in the meeting have accepted it or not, regardless of whether I am an organiser or participant
    • And since this is your work calendar, have you already contacted your company IT admin to check on your calendar permissions? IT might be that this is due to some restrictions set by your company. - YES, there should be no issues

Please work to resolve this, it is making my life miserable.

    Thanks,
    Andrew

Jeez - no way. I am having the probs described...OC new or amended events not rocking up in GC (ics). This is going to kill either OC (work) or GC (social). It used to work perfectly. I even think that Microsoft removed the automation tool that used to let you push OC changes across to GC. This is a nightmare.
