Hi Peter Nelson (peter.nelson),

Thanks for choosing Microsoft Community.

Based on your description, I know your requirement. In fact, new outlook for mac does not have contact lists now. So the icon is greyed out. You can get more detailed information from New outlook for mac.

Microsoft is updating their products based on customers' need, believe this feature will be available soon. Please be patient to wait for some time. If you want to use this feature now, you can change back to the old outlook as the document said at any time. Your understanding and patience are highly appreciated.

Thanks for your precious time. Have a nice day.

Best Regards,

Katherine

Just be aware that about ever 10 restarts of Outlook it flips into the "new and improved" version and you need to go back again. I am just waiting for them to delete the ability to go back. Also, note that this new version also does away with filtering rules, which I also use, big time especially every two years during election time!. I have spent a lot of time trying to find something similar to Outlook and eMClient seems to be very very close.

There actually IS a way to revert to an earlier version of Microsoft Outlook, but it's not obvious where to locate it. If you pull down on the "Help" menu in the "New" Outlook main window, you'll find it. I've reverted so I now have access to my contact lists again.

Has MS ever really made a meaningful reply to this issue .... I can't find one.

Do MS really care .... I doubt it.

Are MS doing anything about it .... probably not.

What designer/team leader/manager considers that an email system doesn't need groups/distribution lists ... utter ****.

Experiencing the same issue, why do you need an outlook when you cannot sort out your contacts and send group emails? Even gmail has this feature. Can't believe Microsoft finds it useless...
