Contact list grayed out in Outlook for Mac

(This article says that you "just have to" enable "Hide on my computer folders" but I do not have that options in Preferences > General) How do I enable Contact List this? Thanks for choosing Microsoft Community.

Based on your description, I know your requirement. In fact, new outlook for mac does not have contact lists now. So the icon is greyed out. You can get more detailed information from New outlook for mac.

Microsoft is updating their products based on customers' need, believe this feature will be available soon. Please be patient to wait for some time. If you want to use this feature now, you can change back to the old outlook as the document said at any time. Your understanding and patience are highly appreciated.

Is there an update to this thread? It's been 9 months, and contact lists are critical to using email for business. Appreciate an update, I may need to change email platforms...

WARNING: I did this thinking it would fix the problem and it ended up wiping out al of my drafts and history in all of my email boxes including my primary email account. Would be nice to have a warning before such a change.

Hello!

Thank you for sharing this. Based on your reply, it looks like it was expected that this feature would be available sometime in 2022. Do we have an updated timeline for contact lists? This is an important feature that I use regularly.
