Can't scroll contacts

  • I can't scroll contacts in https://outlook.live.com/people/0/ in Firefox, Chrome, Edge and Opera.
  • I get a visible list of about 12-14 A's but no more contacts than that, and no scroll bar.
  • Can't scroll with mouse pad or mouse.
  • I can click the 'A' to get the alphabet, but when I select another letter, I get the first contact's details for that letter, and the 'All contacts' list disappears. Clicking 'All contacts' does not bring back the list. The only way back to the original, partial list, is to select something other than 'All contacts' on the left pane, then try 'All contacts' again. This brings back the partial list of A's.

Update

Hi all - Pleased to hear that a lot of you have, like myself here in the UK, regained the Scrolling Bar in OWA - People / Contacts. Clearly evident that this has become increasingly more stable over the last 2-3 days with the Scroll Bar appearing and all the contacts accessible without the need to Refresh (CTRL F5),  however, without wishing to ‘spoil the party’, I am afraid that I am not convinced that everything is fixed !

Have noticed two things which I think may still be ongoing Issues, which may have only now come to light since things became more stable but were most certainly not an issue or present prior to recent events.

    1. When you try to Edit a Contact using the ‘Edit Icon Button’ below the displayed Contact Details (either in Overview or Contact View) it doesn’t always open the Edit Screen on every Contact (and even if you CTRL F5 Refresh) you can only Edit if you ‘Right Click’ the same Contact in the List of Contacts and select ‘Edit’ from the Drop Down Box.
    2. Have also noticed that once you have manged to access and Edit a Contact the details are not updated within that same contacts details that is immediately displayed on the OWA screen unless you leave Contacts by going out and back in again.

Once again this seems to suggest an Issue with the ‘Display’ of the Contact/s rather than the Contact Data and how this is updated since when I have checked on another device at the same time - there is no delay and the background Data visible to any other synced device that is updated and visible almost immediately but the People / Contact Details still displayed on Outlook.com are not for some reason updated no matter how long you wait, so is there also still some sort of ‘Auto Refresh’ issue ?

I would hate MS to think they have sorted everything out but missed a ‘Spanner in the Works’ that might come back and give us more grief later, so is there anyone monitoring these posts who has the means to feed these two potential ongoing  issues back to MS or better still, a ‘Bat Phone’ to give them the heads up ?

Chrome Version 107.0.5304.87 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Further to my Post on 25th Oct and having been updating contacts that I couldn’t reliably access whilst we had the earlier Scroll Bar Issues it is now very evident that OWA People / Contacts is still ‘Unwell’ with issues still present when trying to Add, Update and Edit People / Contacts.

Not sure whether a lack of further Posts reporting these new issues on the previous Contacts Scroll Bar Threads indicates that this is a more restricted issue or simply those former contributors haven’t had cause to amend their contacts and encountered the issues themselves but without any evidence to the contrary, I suspect that this may be present on all the popular Browsers that suffered from the former Scroll Bar Issues.

Also doesn’t appear to be any new Threads or Posts related specifically to these ongoing issues other than that recently reported in :

Cannot scroll through or see all of my Contacts/People 18/10/22 by gf1

so in case this helps others identify whether they have similar issues this is what I have found so far, which must still be related in some way to the cause of the previous Scroll Bar Issues ?

Outstanding Outlook,Com (OWA) People / Contacts Issues

New Contacts although shown on A-Z List are not fully accessible / visible

Can’t be Edited using Edit Icon Button below Contact Details

Have to R Click Contact in A-Z List to access editing function in the Drop Down List

After refreshing OWA Contact is still visible but NOT in Exported Contact Data !

When Editing an Existing Contact details not always updated in RH Panel

Appears as if Contact doesn’t fully Update if some fields left blank (not a previous issue)

The less Contact details (Fields) included the more unreliable it appears to be

If Contact is not updating seem to be able to ‘Kick it back into life’ by adding and deleting content in some Fields such as ‘First Name’ which then appears to save the contact properly making it fully visible / accessible (Edit Icon Button restored) and crucially then and only after doing this, appears in Exported Contact Data !

Following my previous experience I cannot see any point whatsoever in reporting this through MS Help (absolutely waste of time) but note some contributors mention an alternative method of ‘Feedback’ - Anyone else experiencing these same issues ? and If so any  idea how we can get MS to sit up and listen since I think the Integrity of People / Contact info is a pretty crucial issue if you can’t currently rely on OWA to add or update Contact Data !

    Hi Nazia,

Thank you for your post, above. However there is no "Mail " link to click on, after opening User accounts from the Control Panel on my Windows 10 Laptops. It doesn't matter though, as the problem has been resolved for several days now. The problem had previously occurred more than once during the last few years. I hope that now they have resolved it permanently, but I am not confident.

I don't know whether anyone is still monitoring this thread but Outlook.Com (OWA) - Editing People / Contacts is still not fixed completely !

Although more stable with no further issues with the errant Scroll Bar and the Edit Icon Button below the Contact details is also now working - Contacts that are Edited (various fields) are not updating live on screen and the revised (edited) contact detail can then only be viewed if you exit the Contact in question and reopen it or Refresh (CTRL F5) and open the Contact again.

Once again seems to be a screen Refreshing Issue since the first edit you attempt seems to update live on screen but any subsequent edit on either the same or other contacts does not update.
