"Message failed to send" Red Error box in Outlook 365 for Mac

Hi everyone - has anyone had issues with sending emails using Outlook 365 for Macs? Especially a red error box that appears at the bottom (attached) and says "Message failed to send Open" The email is then stuck in drafts with the option to continue editing but it is simply frozen in drafts and the only way is to delete and try again. Alternatively, you can go to the webmail version of outlook, find the drafts folder and send from there. This has been happening on/off for several weeks now, no pattern, just happens occasionally.

This version of Outlook 365 is absolutely **** with so many issues

Ok, so the problem has started again for me on a couple of email replies. Tried the "Schedule Send" and added a couple of minutes. Seems to work every time with that approach. Happy to have a work around but...... Come on Microsoft!!! This can't be a huge issue to fix!

For some reason, the number of failures exploded for me recently. It was maybe 10-15% and jumped to at least 50% in the past 10 days. I hadn't made any changes that I remembered, but it's possible there was an autoupdate that I didn't notice. I tried the delayed send and it had no effect. I generally could just send again and it would go (could take 2-3 tries) or I could delete the reply and make a new reply and it would go, but this was getting really frustrating. I contacted Microsoft and they told me it's fixed in the current beta release and I could get it by changing the settings for the AutoUpdater. This has worked pretty well for the past day. Not one failure since I changed. In the AutoUpdate, click the Advanced button and then choose "Beta Channel" in the Update Channel setting. I'm now on Version 16.89 (24072820). Good luck!

16.87.2 was released yesterday, and my users that were having this problem appear to now be fixed.

Would be interested to hear how others get on with this.
