"Message failed to send" Red Error box in Outlook 365 for Mac

Hi everyone - has anyone had issues with sending emails using Outlook 365 for Macs? Especially a red error box that appears at the bottom (attached) and says "Message failed to send Open" The email is then stuck in drafts with the option to continue editing but it is simply frozen in drafts and the only way is to delete and try again. Alternatively, you can go to the webmail version of outlook, find the drafts folder and send from there. This has been happening on/off for several weeks now, no pattern, just happens occasionally.

This version of Outlook 365 is absolutely **** with so many issues

    I have the same issue with someone at my company. Only certain emails get stuff in draft and don't send unless they go to outlook online and send them that way. Any permanent fix besides having to remove stuff from the email?

    Happened to me today on 16.80.

    Fact is - we should not have to think about support of images and attachments when sending emails. This is almost 2024, attachments and embedded images have been standard part of emails for 20+ years.

    I don't think it's too much to ask NOT to have to go to outlook.office.com to send a draft message because the Mac client is ****.

    I had the very same issue. Reading here what I did is following:

    1. Remove any images from the mail body
    2. Remove all hyperlinks from mail body (including the zoom invite on the mail body from invite)

    And then it worked like charm.

    Outlook For Mac version: 16.80 (23121017)

    MacOS version: 13.6.3 (22G436)

    And just as I wrote that BANG!! the dreaded red message, I deleted everything below that had a lot of HTML and got back on the draft message then used the draft send menu and it went through, anyone else noticed this menu, does it fix yours?
