My Outlook (O365) and many others is constantly freezing. We are in online mode due to accessing shared mailboxes.

This issue started occurring after Microsoft released a big update on 10 November 2022. The message appears below everytime Outlook freezes. We can't be in cached mode as it causes issue with shared mailboxes. How do I fix this issue? thanks Lia

We are running citrix v7.5 1912 on-prem and in process of migrating to cloud when this issue raised its ugly head. Our VDAs are October patched 2019 server with latest version of Office release november 8th 15726.20202.

We also have older VDAs only patched to July and running july version of office with same issue described here. And having same issue with endpoints configure to exchange online only. MS totally gaslighting me saying its our virtual environment which has been happily humming along since Feb this year and regularly patched.

    So frustrating :_(

    Hi Ali

The SARA detected I was in online mode and suggested to use cache mode. Other than that it found no issues.

Microsoft tech support wanted logging to be enabled in Outlook for diagnostic purposes

    1. In Outlook, go to the File tab > Options > Advanced.
    2. Under Other, select or clear the Enable troubleshooting logging (requires restarting Outlook) check box.
    3. Exit and restart Outlook.

I asked Microsoft tech support if there was an update for Exchange online that took place on 10 November 2022.

    This is the response :-

    Hi Lia,

The update is not from Exchange Online itself but from the Office application update/patches.

The issue you are encountering is only happening on Outlook and not from the Web. This is a local Outlook occurrence.

I've done a bit more digging, looks like our issues started on the 10th or 11th of November.

We did not patch a single server in our environment with this months updates until the 17th.

Not sure if something was changed on Microsoft's side of things that could be causing this.

We have the same issues here. Dozens of clients with Outlook randomly freezing. The issues we're having is not just RDS type environments but Windows 10 Pro PC's too. Also they all use Cached mode and that makes no difference so I wouldn't even consider trying it.

Is it even possible to roll back an Office Update as we're on the patch released the 8th November as well (15726.20202)?

Also running into similar issue with one of my clients. Client has two shared mailboxes and doing a search causes Outlook to freeze. I also have a ticket with Microsoft about this.
