My Outlook (O365) and many others is constantly freezing. We are in online mode due to accessing shared mailboxes.

This issue started occurring after Microsoft released a big update on 10 November 2022. The message appears below everytime Outlook freezes. We can't be in cached mode as it causes issue with shared mailboxes. How do I fix this issue? thanks Lia

Yes Cached mode is not an option for us also. It is a workaround that hides the underlying issue instead of resolving it. Redirecting an OST on a shared environment comes with it's own set of issues. Such as disk capacity, Disk IO issues, maintenance and cleanup, corruptions. We shouldn't need to implement a workaround for something that clearly changed on the 10th.

Yes since the 10th of November we have had major performance issues with Outlook running in Online mode in a virtual environment. No answers from MS except to say change config to cache mode which we cannot accept due to limitations with search function on server 2019. Our environment happily running in online mode until 10th November. Are there any update to this. MS Technician very unhelpful

I've done a bit more digging, looks like our issues started on the 10th or 11th of November.

We did not patch a single server in our environment with this months updates until the 17th.

Not sure if something was changed on Microsoft's side of things that could be causing this.

    Hi Steve and Lia,

That would be great if you get an update from Microsoft, I might log a case with them as well.

Only our Domain Controllers and a few other servers here and there have been patched to this point.

Interestingly we still haven't patched our Exchange server just yet, our Citrix environment has only had the storefront servers patched, however these issues started prior to these being patched.

We're in the same boat, can't enable cached mode as it causes a lot of other issues due to mailbox sizes.

Hopefully we can get a resolution soon, cheers
