Outlook Calendar on Mac Sync Issues with Apple calendar app

I have been having issues with syncing events between my Outlook calendar on Mac and my Apple calendar application (on my MacBook Pro) for the last couple of months. Before then, the syncing worked like a charm.

I've had many calls with the Apple support team and they got it working every single time but it stops syncing again after a few hours or at most a day.

Do you have any tips on what I may need to do to resolve this issue from the Outlook side of things?

An interesting fact is that my iPhone and my Outlook calendars are syncing perfectly fine. It's just the connection between my MacBook Pro and Outlook that doesn't work

I would so very much appreciate your insights and guidance.

Thank you!

I have tried restarting Sync Services and the Terminal commands without success. Outlook is syncing perfectly with my iPhone on recent IOS, but will not sync with my Mac Calendar app. MacBook Pro Big Sur 11.6.7. Suggestions welcome.

I have the same problem. Syncing is inconsistent. Seems to come and go. Particularly problematic since Outlook Mac Calendar is so graphically horrible displaying calendar items, especially in a (scrolling) monthly view, compared with Mac Calendar. It's fine as a scrolling side bar to Outlook Mail, and would be more so if it scrolled past 7 days!

Finally solved this with the help of my IT department (they are amazing). Here's what they told me to do:

You need to update the desktop app on the computer. Running 16.55. It is at 16.65 now. Go to Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support > Microsoft > MAU2.0 > Microsoft Auto Update.app

That explains why it stops working occasionally.

I'm afraid this does not solve it. I am on 16.66.1 and the issue continues. It has persisted quite a while now. I reported it already in May 2022.

Is it only with the Apple chip or do users with MacBooks with Intel chips have the issue too? My IT department said it is a known issue with the M1 processor.

I’m using an M2 MacBook and also using the latest Outlook version: 16.66.1. Tim, maybe the mere process of updating the app to a new version also momentarily syncs the calendars? Are you using an Intel or M Mac(book)?

Regardless, this issue needs to be resolved. It's not a trivial issue and five months is an excessive amount of time. Is anyone still experiencing this with Ventura pre-release?
