Outlook Calendar on Mac Sync Issues with Apple calendar app

I have been having issues with syncing events between my Outlook calendar on Mac and my Apple calendar application (on my MacBook Pro) for the last couple of months. Before then, the syncing worked like a charm.

I've had many calls with the Apple support team and they got it working every single time but it stops syncing again after a few hours or at most a day.

Do you have any tips on what I may need to do to resolve this issue from the Outlook side of things?

An interesting fact is that my iPhone and my Outlook calendars are syncing perfectly fine. It's just the connection between my MacBook Pro and Outlook that doesn't work

I would so very much appreciate your insights and guidance.

    I'm not sure if I'm experiencing the same problem or not. Currently running Mac OS Sonoma 14.5 and using Outlook for Mac 16.87.1.

    I have loaded in Outlook for Mac, my iCloud account, private outlook.com account, business Office 365 account, and school Office 365 accounts.

    Mail is syncing fine between apple Mail, Outlook for Mac, and online Outlook and iCloud accounts.

    For calendar invites:

    • if I accept an invite into my iCloud account in Outlook for Mac, it does not sync through to Apple Calendar, nor iCloud
    • If I accept the invite in apple Mail or Calendar (iPhone or mac app) into my iCloud account, sometimes it does sync over into Outlook for Mac, and sometimes it doesn't, or there is a delay
    • If I create an event in my iCloud calendar in Outlook for Mac, it does sync through to apple Calendar in Mac and iPhone
    • If I delete the event in my iCloud calendar in apple Calendar (Mac or Phone) it still remains in Outlook for Mac

    Does this mean that between iCloud and Outlook for Mac there is only a one-way sync?

    This worked for me.

    Kill the process named exchangesyncd in Activity monitor, and all syncing was restored.

    Here's a quick fix that worked for me (from this article https://www.howtoisolve.com/exchange-calendar-not-syncing-in-macos/)

    1. Click Outlook > Preferences.
    2. Go to Accounts: In the Preferences window, pick the Accounts option.
    3. Choose your account: On the left side, select any account that's not syncing.
    4. Reset the account:
      • Click More Options (the circled three dots in the left panel), then hit Reset Account.
    5. Restart Outlook:
      • You'll see a message saying you need to restart Outlook for the reset to happen. Just click Restart Now, and you're good to go!

    In my case Outlook Calendar synced again properly with the Apple Calendar app.
