Hi all, today I got an error message when opening Ms. Outlook with the following error message (We cannot render a new actionable message right now. Please close an existing one in Microsoft Outlook and retry) As for what I have done =

*Update office version

*Re-install O365

but neither of those things solved the problem, really appreciate if anyone in this forum can give more advice.

(no problem sending messages via OWA)

I have not seen the error since updating outlook per the procedure.

I still do not know how to tell if an outlook message is actionable, but maybe I no longer need to know.

We put some examples of Actionable Messages in this article under "What are actionable messages?", Error when opening Actionable Messages (microsoft.com). Normally they have some action on them. For example, if I send a Quick Poll, that email with the Vote button is an Actionable Message. Or the email that is sent when someone requests access to a group that goes to the Group Admin to approve is an Actionable Message.

I am trying to find out how to tell if a message is an actionable message so I will know that I should close it.

I already understand that the software has bugs and that this has been reported as an outstanding bug that may be fixed someday.

What version of Outlook are you on (File, Office Account, under About Outlook)? There was a recent service change to address the issue in Current Channel.

This regression seems worth of rolling back, or pushing out an out-of-band update to the Monthly Enterprise Channel; no? Otherwise Enterprise customers - the most risk adverse - have to do a bunch of work because an update wasn't tested properly by Microsoft?
