Hi all, today I got an error message when opening Ms. Outlook with the following error message (We cannot render a new actionable message right now. Please close an existing one in Microsoft Outlook and retry) As for what I have done =

*Update office version

*Re-install O365

but neither of those things solved the problem, really appreciate if anyone in this forum can give more advice.

(no problem sending messages via OWA)

    David,

I have not seen the limit error happen immediately after starting a new session. Double check there is not another session open.

After you install the Debugger, it will show up in the ribbon like below. If you click on an email and then click on the debugger it will tell you if it is an actionable message. In this case below this email does not have an actionable message.

In this example I have a Poll in the email and it detects the actionable message.

In reviewing this issue with a current user, We opened a new session of Outlook, with no open emails, attempt to create new email and the standard alert shows up.

"We cannot render a new Actionable Message right now...."
So how could this be the case if nothing is open, where would there be 10 actionable messages.

If an actionable message is "Actionable Messages enable you to extend the functionality of email messages in Outlook to give recipients the ability to take quick actions in an Adaptive Card without leaving Outlook."

Then does Open mean incomplete? It sounds like these "Actionable Messages" are requesting a the user to take the action, fill out the poll or complete the form.
Is it possible that not completing these tasks leaves those messages in an OPEN state?

I am trying to assist a current user with this issue, knowing it will likely repeat I am looking to what my next steps are.

I also have installed the Actionable Message Debugger but do not see it locally nor do I see any effects from the installation.

    Thank you for any assistance.

    David Johnson

There are incremental fixes going out routinely. The Actionable Message limits were moved up to 10 now in all channels except SAC. SAC will go from 5 to 10 in the July 11th major update. If you are on SAC and want to test this change it is available in all channels up to SACP. We are updating this known issue with the big changes as they become available, Error when opening Actionable Messages - Microsoft Support.

The next anticipated change is deleting the WebView if auto invoke returns hideCard in Nudge, Inspector Pane scenario. This is the brief description, but it includes scenarios such as Viva Insights showing AM even if the insight is no longer applicable. This fix is in build 16524.10000 which is currently at CC Preview (16529.20046) and Beta (16529.20000) channels if you wanted to test and see if it helps in your case.

    Hi, FresTea~

    Good day!

Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

According to your description, the issue of your concern that there's a prompted error displays on your Outlook desktop client.

For narrowing down this issue, please be kindly to check if there's a same issue under the Safe mode - Open Office apps in safe mode on a Windows PC.

If it works well under the safe mode, please give an attempt for Repair an Office application and see if it helps.

In addition, please give it a shot by creating a new profile - Create an Outlook profile and check if it can make any differences.

We're glad to help you and looking forward to your new updates.

    Sincerely,

    Alex | Microsoft Community Moderator.

The described steps didn't help at all. Is there any other fix for this issue? We are using the very latest O365 build in our organization.
