Where can I find the below setting when I'm in the "New Outlook" mode:

If you prefer, you can disable dark mode so that the message window is always white when using the black theme. The icons to switch dark mode on or off are disabled when you disable dark mode.

  • In Outlook, go to File > Options.
  • On the General page, look for Personalize your copy of Microsoft Office.
  • Set the Office Theme to Black and select the check box next to Never change the message background color.
  • Select OK.

Thx

Second this, I hate to have one step backward.

As a long-time user of Microsoft products, I am increasingly frustrated by the company's apparent disregard for user feedback. Despite numerous requests and suggestions from the community, it often feels like our voices are falling on deaf ears.

One glaring example is the persistent issues with New Outlook missing functions, especially something as simple as "Never Change the Message Background".

Users have been vocal about the need for implementation, yet updates seem to ignore these pleas, focusing instead on less critical changes. This not only hampers productivity but also erodes trust in Microsoft's commitment to its user base.

Moreover, the lack of transparency in decision-making processes leaves users feeling alienated. We deserve to know why certain features are prioritised over others and how our feedback is being utilised. A more open dialogue would go a long way in rebuilding confidence and ensuring that Microsoft products truly meet the needs of their users.

In conclusion, Microsoft must take user feedback seriously and act upon it. Ignoring the community will only lead to dissatisfaction and a potential loss of loyal customers. It's time for Microsoft to listen and respond effectively to its users' needs.

My allegiance to Microsoft is solely driven by work obligations.

    Oh dear Microsoft,

People have been asking for this incredibly simple and basic feature for TWO YEARS now—something so straightforward that a developer could probably implement it in minutes (especially since it’s already in Word!). And yet, here we are, still waiting. It’s hard to believe how much you’re ignoring your users’ feedback.

Honestly, this makes the new Outlook completely unusable for me until you finally add the option to "Never change the message background color." How can you justify not addressing such an obvious request? It feels like Microsoft is intentionally disregarding its users, and this lack of responsiveness is beyond frustrating.

Awesome perfect directions. Why doesn't everybody strive to be this concise?

    Thanks
