New Outlook mode - Light/Dark background setting

I stumbled upon this thread while trying to format the Inbox layout. In the old outlook I flag items that need to stay to the fore front and then set the background of those flagged items to Yellow. Trying to emulate that in the new outlook (no sorting on anything but dates) I tried the Pin option. That seems to work pretty much OK but the background for those items is so light that it is indiscernible - would like a higher contrast. While I am griping it seems the fashion designers have taken up the majority of the screen real estate. Setting aside the issue of the start thing on the left. The rows of emails have a lot of stuff I would like to turn off, like Month, Older, etc. I totally agree with the folks here say that this is a big step backwards for a piece of enterprise software.

PS: looking for .PST capability and only thing I found was a place to request an archive with 4-5 day response via email and a link??

Lets see - sent emails that disappear and are sent a month later.

New Outlook suddenly deciding that it is going to delete all my email accounts causing me to have to spend the time to reload them and reset up the limited preferences allowed.

New Outlook suddenly deciding that my screen should be in the dark mode - no I did not go into settings to change anything - then forcing me to have to go online to find out how to change this removed by moderator

New Outlook calendar which does not give me the ability color code events/appointments (old outlook had that).

New Outlook calendar deciding that all my appointments should be scheduled in Pacific Time - I live in Central.

Why did you decide to take something that worked great and turn it into removed by moderator

I was using the file as an example of how we get the dark grey mode turned on in the current Outlook.

For the new beta Outlook, you have to click on View/View Settings/General Menu/Appearance: it only gives you the option of dark or light mode. I have tried using settings for apps from Microsoft, but it doesn't change it either.

There no 'FILE' menu

In the Settings > General menu there's an Appearance menu but it's empty

Chiming in here as well as I can't seem to to find the dark gray theme I always use? Surely there is an accessibility issue here? As you can see, the top is a grey theme, however when you try to swap it over to a different "theme", it only changes the office background and not the "mode". We need a light, dark gray, and dark mode. Team Dark Gray all the way! Light and dark are too stark!
