New Outlook mode - Light/Dark background setting

Where can I find the below setting when I'm in the "New Outlook" mode:

If you prefer, you can disable dark mode so that the message window is always white when using the black theme. The icons to switch dark mode on or off are disabled when you disable dark mode.

  • In Outlook, go to File > Options.
  • On the General page, look for Personalize your copy of Microsoft Office.
  • Set the Office Theme to Black and select the check box next to Never change the message background color.
  • Select OK.

Thx

I agree, it is a deal breaker for me too. I continue with Old Outlook.

The 'new' Outlook interface does look/feel much cleaner - but the lack of 'grey' theme and option to 'never change background colour' is a deal breaker for me personally.

I shall be switching back to 'old' Outlook for time being.

Your link tells me I need to log in. Can't see article.

A post I saw says to include mso style stuff. This is not working -

    <p class=MsoNormal><b><span lang=EN-GB style='font-size:10pt;;mso-style-textfill-type:gradient;mso-style-textfill-fill-gradientfill-shadetype:linear;mso-style-textfill-fill-gradientfill-shade-linearshade-angle:5400000; mso-style-textfill-fill-gradientfill-shade-linearshade-fscaled:no;mso-style-textfill-fill-gradientfill-stoplist:"0 #FFFFFF 0 100000,100000 #FFFFFF 0 100000"'>Here is some white text<o:p></o:p></span></b></p>

Above text does not stay white - it turns black when changing to dark mode.
