For New Outlook, I can't drag and drop attachment.

That being said, it would be nice to hear anything from MS that they are actually receiving these complaints and taking them to heart. Then there would probably be less comments. For me, all I feel is ignored and will keep posting until I get a response. As the saying goes, "The squeaky wheel gets the grease."

Thanks for your comments on the subject of drag and drop in New Outlook which are all very interesting but I would like to make just a few points:

1. Firstly, yes, there are some improvements in the New Outlook.
2. It's not always entirely optional which Outlook version you use, this may depend on your company/IT department.
3. Drag and drop is a very useful feature that the majority of users will employ. The new method takes a few extra moments, which, if added up amounts to a whole lot of wasted time.
4. People are not whining; they are making their views known. How else will MS find out about the issue.
5. Sometimes you just need to get things off your chest and it's quite reassuring to know you're not alone.
6. The more people who raise the subject, hopefully the more MS will realise it is SOOOO frustrating and resolve sooner rather than later, or not at all.
7. Super news that it is still in development and updates are coming, but it has taken a really long time and still has not been changed.
8. In my role, whilst not IT, I'm used to systems constantly adapting and changing and have never before felt the need to raise an issue directly with the supplier.

As a person who works in IT, I understand everyone's frustration; however, don't you think we can do better than act like whining children?

A month ago, an accountant asked me about this exact issue, so I looked into it. I found there are numerous threads discussing this same missing feature, with replies all to a similar effect. If you have taken the time to read all the replies in this thread, then you will get the idea.

Microsoft is infamous for removing / delaying the deployment of features for one reason or another, but they are also very well known for their ongoing dedication to technical support, and if previous years are anything to go by, they will find a way to win you back.

The new Outlook is a preview version, and it is entirely optional. It has features missing, but it also has planned features that are in development, and I have reason to believe that our suggestions really do make a difference, at least in this developmental stage of the application. Attached is an image of the development roadmap, where users can track the progress of features to be implemented in MS products.

It appears the feature will be released within this month, although it is difficult to say this for certain.

Side note: Updates from MS are often tested in small areas first, then with a wider scope, and finally fully deployed within the programme for all to use. I'm from the UK, where we are often late to receive updates as compared to other locations. Just something to keep in mind if you notice that despite the update being "Launched" you still cannot access certain features.

To make myself clear, I fully sympathise with all of you. Whether the choice to not include this feature from the beginning of the preview was an oversight or a bid to push us towards OneDrive (which I highly doubt), it is still a very poor move from MS, but posting the same comments in forums over and over will get us nowhere. Be patient and know that features are coming. Remember that MS has no reason to alienate its clients.

My only reason for writing this response is in the hope that I can alleviate some of the frustration which might potentially stem from the belief that we are powerless in this situation. Stay hopeful and remember that updates are coming!

Can the Outlook team promptly get on this case and solve so that dragging and dropping ACTUALLY ADDS AN ATTACHMENT to the e-mail?

Instead of this useless "adding a link" or whatever it does that does NOT work for ANY RECIPIENT.

HOW CAN YOU STILL NOT DO THIS............. ITS ONE OF THE MAIN FUNCTIONS OF OUTLOOK.
