I like to open unread emails in a new window vs the email window. It sometimes works by double clicking but not very often. Is there a trick I'm missing?

This does not work. As many people already mentioned it.
Not sure adding a comment will help at escalating the issue.
Really? How else do we make these people see the utter cock-up they have caused? We need to clog up their inbox until they ruddy well do something about it.
I found a triple click works, but it has to be fast and you can't move the mouse! Within the program go to help click feedback and provide the feedback for change there.
The options in your example aren't available to me. The option I have is Customize Actions (not Message Surface) with options to add/remove Delete, Archive, Pin, Mark as read or unread, Flag, or Move to folder. I don't see in my window what you show above.
