I like to open unread emails in a new window vs the email window. It sometimes works by double clicking but not very often. Is there a trick I'm missing?

Reading pane marks items as read, which haven't been opened yet. It is very important to me to know what I have read or not. I am not looking for a workaround, I am looking for MS to fix the beg/feature. The new Outlook is obviously written for Samsung and Apple tablets, not for "Windows".

    Hi Ashraf,

there's a trick to solve this issue: first to ensure enable 'Reading Pane' ON, then it's fine to open email in separate window when double click on the subject.

When I first open the New Outlook, doubling clicking an e-mail does open the message in a new window, however this only works for the 1st e-mail, if I try and do this for another e-mail, it stays within the main Outlook window.  The app can clearly do it, however there must be a bug which stops it working after the 1st e-mail

If I wanted to read email on my phone, I would read email on my phone. (Everything is one window full screen)

I use a PC, with an OS called "Windows" because I want to benefit from the "Windows" capability.

I often refer to other emails while reading or writing an email. I often cut and paste from multiple emails.

I often have a meeting open when writing an email, or vice/versa.

Please add back in the ability to open emails in windows.

Note, the workaround of adding an "open in new window" custom action, means that I have to open the email in-line, then open in a new window from there. super unproductive.
