Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
Thankyou for stating this Ricky,
It is incredibly frustrating when something as simple as this is missed and inconveniences millions of users.

I like to open unread emails in a new window vs the email window. It sometimes works by double clicking but not very often. Is there a trick I'm missing?

That's funny. I had assumed that it was deliberately set this way so that we couldn't avoid the ads.
I used to have an email account with Waitrose, until they shut down the service. So many lessons Microsoft could learn from other, more user-friendly email service providers.
Although I'm able to open emails in a new window via double-clicking (Windows PC, using the "New Outlook" version), the option to move to the next email is no longer present. In the last version I had to add this option to the ribbon despite it existing in pretty much all previous versions of Outlook that I can recall, but now that simply doesn't seem to exist.
This is yet another example of how it doesn't seem like Microsoft even bothers to use their own product, or doesn't give a hoot about productivity, despite M$ 365 being a "productivity" platform.
It seems they only test products on iPads now. That is the only way all of this non-windowed, non-bordered, software would make sense. Everything full screen, no real work being done, just poking the app with one finger. ;-(
It really doesn't seem like you are listening to the customers when they tell you that your redesigns basically suck! They do not meet your customers' stated use cases.
I will be pushing for a change in our organization to non-Microsoft solutions. You are simply not doing what we, the customers want.
