I like to open unread emails in a new window vs the email window. It sometimes works by double clicking but not very often. Is there a trick I'm missing?

That's funny. I had assumed that it was deliberately set this way so that we couldn't avoid the ads.

I used to have an email account with Waitrose, until they shut down the service. So many lessons Microsoft could learn from other, more user-friendly email service providers.

Although I'm able to open emails in a new window via double-clicking (Windows PC, using the "New Outlook" version), the option to move to the next email is no longer present. In the last version I had to add this option to the ribbon despite it existing in pretty much all previous versions of Outlook that I can recall, but now that simply doesn't seem to exist.

This is yet another example of how it doesn't seem like Microsoft even bothers to use their own product, or doesn't give a hoot about productivity, despite M$ 365 being a "productivity" platform.

If someone stumbles upon this via a web search like I did today, please be sure to vote for the feature and add your commentary here: Open in New Window for forward or reply messages not possible · Community (microsoft.com)

If we get enough attention to the matter, maybe Microsoft will do something about it.

MavMar, I hope this is not the case. The new Outlook is unusable as-is. So much functionality has been stripped, it is a shell of the former version. You can't even select where to save files (beyond Downloads or OD). The help articles don't match the interface and there is zero support. This is some of Microsoft's messiest work with changes that make absolutely no sense.

So, what's the workaround? The only workarounds mentioned here reference options/icons that are not showing on my Outlook... Help!
