How to remove old Outlook after switching to New Outlook

After changing to the New Outlook, my office apps still try to use old outlook application when I try to share a document (File - Share - Email). It opens old outlook but wont send. It just sets in Outbox. I assume some clean up is necessary to remove remanence of old Outlook?

    i have the same issue. And the instructions provided by MS do not apply to Windows 11. As others have said, the only options I have are Repair or Uninstall.

    I still notice, however, that in the new Outlook, I still see the toggle switch in the top-right of the application, which would indicate to me that there is still the option of using the "classic" (old) OLK.

    Is there a registry hack somewhere? I no longer want to use the old version. In addition, i have gone to the settings and made sure that all email-related file types are associated with the new version, but that did not help.

    This is clearly an issue for many people. I am happy to do further troubleshooting if MS needs help.

    MICROSOFT... I defend you all the time as being a competent company who provides a valuable product. Please, why are you proving me wrong?

    HERE'S WHAT NEEDS TO HAPPEN:

    In Microsoft 365 and parallel apps, you need to provide an option for either NEW or OLD Outlook and programmatically remove the other. Period Dot.

    LOGIC:

    You can't expect your ENTIRE user base to deal with all the trouble caused by having Outlook (old) installed while using (new). I can't email a OneNote, I can't import Calendar items... it ALL GOES TO OUTLOOK OLD BUT I'M USING OUTLOOK NEW.

    NO, CHANGING DEFAULT APPS DOESN'T FIX IT.

    YES, THIS IS A DEPRICATION HANDLING FAILURE ON YOUR PART.

    CAUTION:

    [Removed - COC violation] I don't want to troubleshoot with you, and I don't need a canned statement on how it's a feature not a bug. Just stop.

    The only thing I'd like in reply is either "we've forwarded your concerns, and the wizards in the white tower said it will be in a coming update" or "we don't care".

    There are no other viable options.

    Today, for the first time, old Outlook just popped up reminders from last November. This happened twice in ten minutes. I need a solution to remove old Outlook.
