How to remove old Outlook after switching to New Outlook

After changing to the New Outlook, my office apps still try to use old outlook application when I try to share a document (File - Share - Email). It opens old outlook but wont send. It just sets in Outbox. I assume some clean up is necessary to remove remanence of old Outlook?

    i have the same issue. And the instructions provided by MS do not apply to Windows 11. As others have said, the only options I have are Repair or Uninstall.

    I still notice, however, that in the new Outlook, I still see the toggle switch in the top-right of the application, which would indicate to me that there is still the option of using the "classic" (old) OLK.

    Is there a registry hack somewhere? I no longer want to use the old version. In addition, i have gone to the settings and made sure that all email-related file types are associated with the new version, but that did not help.

    This is clearly an issue for many people. I am happy to do further troubleshooting if MS needs help.

    I believe that the desktop version of new outlook is not ready yet. And because there has to be a desktop version when installing the office suite, it will automatically reinstall the old outlook software. At least that is the conclusion I eventually came to...

    This being said, the new outlook is still full of flaws and the old outlook (desktop version) is so popular for a reason. So, my advice would be to stick to the old desktop version and patiently wait for the future release of the desktop version of the new outlook.

    change is not an option; only advanced and uninstall. I am using Windows 11 and just installed the new outlook. No icon for old outlook and no continue button on Microsoft 365 office.

    I was hopeful that uninstalling Office I would have the option to determine what to install on a new install. Unlike everytime I have installed MS Office in the past, this time it did not allow me to pick what parts of Office to install, so it reinstalled Outlook (which I wanted to get rid of) and OneNote which I don't use. Why does MS include the old Outlook when they want everyone to move to the new Outlook? If it wasn't for MS Publisher I would dump MS Office.

    So do I. Both the old office and the 365. I after pulling most of my hair out found that the only thing that was actually there was the shortcut. I went to it right clicked and went to properties and yes that was what it was a short cut. No program at all. So I deleted the short cut and now all is well. Hair growing back.
