"New" Outlook: Add Shared Mailbox to Favorites

Hi,

I manage 3 mailboxes at work and made the mistake of switching to the new Outlook a bit early [my toggle to switch back is gone?] and it's totally messed up my workflow. I was able to find my shared mailboxes after several back and forth with my IT department. Now I need to add the inboxes of those shared mailboxes to my "Favorites" list so I don't have to scroll down constantly to work those accounts.

When I right click on the shared inbox there is no option to "Show in favorites" and I get the circle crossed out when I try to drag them into favorites. Also, in the Favorites folder when I click "Add to Favorites" it brings up something wonky, and mailbox folders don't appear to be an option.

Can anyone tell me how show these shared account folders in my favorites?

Thanks

CM

I have the same issue as this and the speed of Microsoft to develop this is frustrating.

I have the same problem. I'm on a help desk and have my own mailbox, plus a helpdesk mailbox and finally a mailbox that is a gateway into our ticketing system.

When someone emails the help desk I look at the message and decide if it's going to become a ticket and drag into the inbox in another shared mailbox. In the "old" Outlook I pinned the inboxes of all these shared accounts to my favorites. Without this ability I will NEVER switch to the new one unless there's simply no option not to.

Yes, I also use my Inbox and have 3 other Inbox from Shared Folders, which are very important to me to have them focused on Favorites.

And without this feature I can't move to New Outlook :(

Okay, I think I have found something in another post. See here:

How do I add shared/user mailboxes after the latest preview update? - Microsoft Community

I can see the shared mailboxes - already there without me having to add.

Lifting them up into favourites seems a journey also, and I wonder if an update has come through or we are experiencing different previews. However, when you expand the favourites list, you will find, 'add favorite' link at the bottom. Clicking on this and entering the shared mailbox name you can insert the inbox for the shared box.

I have mixed results with this. A couple mailboxes will do the right thing while I have one that isn't providing unread and latest emails (even though I can see it below in the, 'shared with me' list).

    progress...

This seems to be a major oversight. MSFT spent years convincing people to pin things to favorites because they didn't want to redesign the interface. Now that they have redesigned, well rewrote, the interface, they eliminated this functionality. Most people I know have to handle multiple mailboxes. It's not just a small # of people.
