"New" Outlook: Add Shared Mailbox to Favorites

Hi,

I manage 3 mailboxes at work and made the mistake of switching to the new Outlook a bit early [my toggle to switch back is gone?] and it's totally messed up my workflow. I was able to find my shared mailboxes after several back and forth with my IT department. Now I need to add the inboxes of those shared mailboxes to my "Favorites" list so I don't have to scroll down constantly to work those accounts.

When I right click on the shared inbox there is no option to "Show in favorites" and I get the circle crossed out when I try to drag them into favorites. Also, in the Favorites folder when I click "Add to Favorites" it brings up something wonky, and mailbox folders don't appear to be an option.

Can anyone tell me how show these shared account folders in my favorites?

Thanks

CM

In Classic Outlook they just appear once the user has permissions for that mailbox, without the user needing to do anything. Can't remember whether any server-side configuration was required for that - it's how ours have worked for a long time!

Yes, we know, we're only saying that it is ALSO possible to add them as separate accounts, with the use of your user's credentials. That's what the other roadmap item is talking about.

Is it? I can see absolutely no logic in doing both of the suggested things. It's actually not at all clear what Microsoft does intend with this.

My Group Inbox has emails all from the same email address. I was able to create a new Folder under 'Favorites' and set up a rule for those emails to be forwarded to it. I'll still have to go back and mark them as read in the original folder but at least I can see them up top.

Don't think that's really going to work if multiple people are working on the same shared mailbox, as is often the case.
