"New" Outlook: Add Shared Mailbox to Favorites

Hi,

I manage 3 mailboxes at work and made the mistake of switching to the new Outlook a bit early [my toggle to switch back is gone?] and it's totally messed up my workflow. I was able to find my shared mailboxes after several back and forth with my IT department. Now I need to add the inboxes of those shared mailboxes to my "Favorites" list so I don't have to scroll down constantly to work those accounts.

When I right click on the shared inbox there is no option to "Show in favorites" and I get the circle crossed out when I try to drag them into favorites. Also, in the Favorites folder when I click "Add to Favorites" it brings up something wonky, and mailbox folders don't appear to be an option.

Can anyone tell me how show these shared account folders in my favorites?

Thanks

CM

Not sure what you would be automating. The problem is no visibility of the shared mailbox (which in our case is a paid account not a free one) without expanding an entire tree and scrolling forever.

This should be a complete no brainer for Microsoft. It worked previously. The "mob" redesigned Outlook and broke it. They need to fix it. NOW would be preferable. A year ago would be even better, but NOW will have to do. Fix it and we can all move on to enjoying whatever flavor of features you added in New Outlook. In the meantime, we are all stuck on Outlook Classic and it is Microsoft's fault.

This whole thing sounds like a repeat of New Coke.

We finally have the "sort by category" fixed and I was happy to tell our people that "now we can switch", but no, only to discover that we can't add the Inbox of Shared Mailboxes to Favorites... Geez...

Most of us (working with support or IT) has a bunch of Shared Mailboxes (I have 14 of them) and the current layout is ridiculous and not usable for us, so back to "old" Outlook again...

I use both a Mac and a PC for work, and I use the New Outlook on both. What is interesting / frustrating is that I can add my shared email folders to Favorites on the Mac Outlook, but not the PC Outlook. I've been surprised by how different the Mac and PC versions of the new Outlook are from each other, but even more surprised that the Mac version has functionality that the PC version does not.

How is this so difficult? We are months in and this still doesn't work.

They have allowed adding the email as a shared as far as I can see, but then you can't control what it shows you.

When you add by the email address, I can't find any way to only show me the Inbox, and it shows me focused rubbish I don't need. Or stuff that's been read or deleted…
And a lot of the time doesn't show when an email arrives. I mean really, why would you break email so it doesn't report new mail, a new low this is.

All I want to see is the Inbox of each shared mailbox. I have 9 boxes to watch, and the Inbox is the only valid part for me.

They need to stop doing what they think we need and actually produce what we do need...

The fact this is still an issue is absurd! They force this new outlook onto us, and it does not even perform the same. I cannot even access one whole inbox because of the 'new' update. And now I cannot add a shared inbox to my favorites for easy access. This is ridiculous.
