"New" Outlook: Add Shared Mailbox to Favorites

Hi,

I manage 3 mailboxes at work and made the mistake of switching to the new Outlook a bit early [my toggle to switch back is gone?] and it's totally messed up my workflow. I was able to find my shared mailboxes after several back and forth with my IT department. Now I need to add the inboxes of those shared mailboxes to my "Favorites" list so I don't have to scroll down constantly to work those accounts.

When I right click on the shared inbox there is no option to "Show in favorites" and I get the circle crossed out when I try to drag them into favorites. Also, in the Favorites folder when I click "Add to Favorites" it brings up something wonky, and mailbox folders don't appear to be an option.

Can anyone tell me how show these shared account folders in my favorites?

Thanks

CM

If you right click on any folder under your mailbox, you get the Add To Favorites menu option. If you right click on any mailboxes under "Shared with me" you can't add that to your favorites. This is a BIG gap in functionality between the old Outlook and NEW. Most companies have multiple shared mailboxes. Users don't want to have to scroll down to the folders in the shared mailboxes each time they need to see what came in. This is a show stopper issue for many users wanting to move over the the NEW version.

    Hi Darpan,

It's nearly 10 months since your update, and as you can see from the thread this is a pretty significant issue.

Do you know when the changes will be implemented, it's been out of preview for months now and some of our newer laptops are being pushed onto the 'new' Outlook. Thankfully you can revert from the Help tab (for anyone who didn't know) but that shouldn't have to be the answer.

The UI doesn't help either, as you need your inbox expanded just to see the 'shared with me' area. I'm going to wear out the scroll wheel on my mouse at this rate!

    Cheers,

    AK

Many Administrative Professionals effectively manage shared mailboxes for their executives and teams by using the Favorites feature in the Outlook client version. Removing this functionality in the "New" Outlook 365 version now reduces their ability to be perform with efficiency.

Adding the entire shared mailbox to favorites, results in a chaotic view as all emails are combined; e.g., sent items, inbox, etc. are all mixed together. Trig242's screenshot example is a much more efficient process that allows users to have increased productivity.
