The new version of Outlook for Windows (Microsoft Outlook Version 1.2023.425.600 - Production) no longer allows me to open my old .pst archive files.

All documentation refers to a File menu that this version does not have at all.

Did you also note that it will no longer allow us to change the subject line? Being able to change it is a huge way to insure good organization. Working for a filter company and the customers send me or my exec an email with only "filter" in the subject line it is ridiculous, and too many do things like this. I change is so it has more substance.

Can you share with me any other features that will be obsolete when the full transition is made?

Posted by foo on Jul 26th, 2023 at 1:32 PM Microsoft Office 365Microsoft Exchange Some of you may not have encountered it yet....
However the *New* outlook preview in Office 365, does not support PST.
Caused a bit of a panic when users tried the preview and lost access to tons of historical data (Resumed on switching back it was just a shot across the bow)

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/getting-started-with-the-new-outlook-for-windows-656bb8d9...

They have it on the roadmap, with a No*, detailed as "*Coming Soon"
No indication on "Soon" for that support, only when it will be shoved at you.
And no guarantee it will make release.

This is ridiculous that they didn't make pst file available and asking people to try. There are lots of business users with years of achived email for compliance / retention purposes. Without all the historical emails on pst. file, this new outlook can just go to trash.

Jenny, you are obsoletely correct. I found an application that handles the PST files as well as current emails stored in servers.

It is called MailStore and can be free for single user or paid for business and corporations, It has a powerful search engine.

    I hope this helps.
