New Outlook won't open .pst files

The new version of Outlook for Windows (Microsoft Outlook Version 1.2023.425.600 - Production) no longer allows me to open my old .pst archive files.

All documentation refers to a File menu that this version does not have at all.

    The new Outlook is a HUGE step backwards. So much loss of functionality.
    Microsoft cannot make this the new version until functional parity with the old version!

    PST files are VERY useful, as is export/import etc.

    This is outright stupid marketing, "All your data are belong to us", pay monthly for continued access to it, complete garbage.

    There are VERY valid security reasons to offline archiving, as well as backup and retention policies.

    So what now, when a users' mailboxes get compromised... You know, BEC only being the #1 cybercrime vector globally, then the criminals have to have access to all your years of data if you personally want to pay Micro$oft for the same luxury?

    Are we actually supposed to upload years of stored data BACK into our mailboxes!?

    Or run thunderbird over IMAP?

    Micro$oft has been called many names over the years for decisions like this, ransomware now resoundingly makes that list.

    With you on this one, removal of PST is feature reduction. Not everyone has cloud storage capacity and I do like to archive emails and keep them (as per retention policies) for several years. Might sound crazy, but sometimes those kept emails are just what you need to refer back to.

    Very disappointing that the new Outlook does not support pst files - it's the only reason I even use the desktop version.. switched back after wasting half an hour configuring the new version... smh

    The feature doesn't exist in New Outlook. You may share your feedback. Select Help and choose Feedback.
