New Outlook won't open .pst files

The new version of Outlook for Windows (Microsoft Outlook Version 1.2023.425.600 - Production) no longer allows me to open my old .pst archive files.

All documentation refers to a File menu that this version does not have at all.

    I have never switch to the new 'style', but they did change it to being able to open pst files. Back in September when they announced the change, they said in December they would no longer support the old one version. Any emails you want to keep have to be moved into the live Outlook folders. I believe they have done this to make A LOT of money - if you need more space you will have to purchase it.

    Exactly my question that doesn’t get answered. I do investigations every week and can’t understand why MS doesn’t acknowledge this huge issue.

    This is ridiculous. I need to dig mailbox archive from 2003 :| Please bring back this feature even though just for read-only function

    That was going to be the logical conclusion, with the benefit of cutting out all the unwanted bloated functionality.

    And now, as of February 28, 2024, when I try and toggle to old Outlook, I get a screen to describe the problem. Fine - I describe it and it pops up with some info but the the only options after submit are to return to "New" Outlook or Leave completely! I am an engineer with 35 years experience, and this is absolutely the most stupid and most craven money grab I have seen, even worse than Wendy's going to surge pricing!
